“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” Phil 2:13
It’s encouraging to know that it is ‘God’ who works in us to ‘do the right thing’ . Without his help, we can certainly try to do the right thing, but we will be far less likely to achieve it in a way that reflects his uniquely gracious and faithful character.
‘Oh yes YOU can!’ is our preaching series for June and July. In it we are going to be looking at how some biblical writers use different motifs to describe how God offers ‘divine enabling gifts’ to us (such as faith, grace, and the Holy Spirit) which, when received and applied, give us the ability to do the right thing! The messages in the series will also draw on the wisdom of other Christian writers and leaders.
You can do it! You can be that faithful follower of Christ – overcoming, excelling, and making a difference in every situation that you find yourself in today…oh yes you can, for God is working in you!
